Test/Quiz Revisions can significantly increase your grade because they work just like extra credit.
For each correctly revised problem, you can receive back half of all the points you missed.
Remember, you can do a revision no matter what you scored on your test/quiz - whether you missed 1 point or 100 points!
For each correctly revised problem, you will earn back half of all the points you missed. Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1: Write on the clean copy of the quiz attached.
Step 2: Revise each problem that you lost points on...
Solve the problem correctly and show all of your work.
Identify what you originally did wrong.
Explain (in a sentence or two) what your mistake was and/or how to solve the problem correctly. You need to show that you now understand! If you do not know how to correctly solve a problem, ask someone for help!
Step 3: Turn in the revision and the original quiz.
Here's an example of a quiz and a correctly done quiz revision:
Some additional tips:
Revisions will only be accepted if all of the work leading up to the assessment has been completed, so make sure you have done all of the homework!
Do the revision as soon as possible, that way you won't forget how to do the work.
Focus on understanding the mistakes you made, that's the whole reason for doing a Revision!
Write thoughtful explanations. Responses, such as "I wrote 7 when the answer should be 8", will not be accepted.
Make sure that your revised answers are correct! Check them with a tutor, parent, family member, and/or classmate.
Or do the revision with a parent or tutor, then you can be sure that you are doing it correctly!
