Eckstein Bands and
Small Ensembles

The Eckstein Bands and Vocal Groups are made up of three main groups - Concert Bands, Jazz Groups and Chamber Groups. Use the letter indicated below following the group name to match the band or vocal group to the event on the Event Schedule.

Concert Groups

Beginning Concert Band (A) - Mr. Trader (No entry requirement) - Primarily for students who have never played an instrument. Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Beginning Band

Junior Concert Band (B) - Mr. Trader and Mr. Escobedo (Teacher Recommendation) - Primarily for 6th grade or other students with previous playing experience outside of an Eckstein band. Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Junior Band

Intermediate Concert Band (C) - Mr. Escobedo (Teacher Recommendation) - This intermediate band plays only concert music. Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Intermediate Concert

Wind Ensemble (F) - Mr. Escobedo (Teacher Recommendation) Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Wind Ensemble

Jazz Groups

Intermediate Concert/Jazz (D) - Mr. Escobedo (Teacher Recommendation) - This band plays mostly jazz music and some concert music. Their concert events are listed under (D) and their jazz events are listed under (H). Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Intermediate Jazz and Concert Band

Junior Jazz Band (OST) (G) - Mr. Escobedo - Monday and Tuesday, 2:30 - 4:30(Interview) - After school band primarily for students who want exposure to jazz. Year In the Life - 2009 - 2010 - Junior Jazz Band
