Thu 14 Jan 2010 School Levy Vote – February 9 + Eckstein Phone Bank – January 27Posted by ahumphrey under Events , PTSANo Comments On February 9, 2010, voters within Seattle School District will be voting with an all mail-in ballot to replace two expiring levies that continue funding for schools. The first is a three-year operations levy. This Seattle school levy funds 23% of the Seattle Public schools operating budget for teachers, librarians, counselors, textbooks, and bilingual & special education specialists. The second levy, the six-year school levy, provides safety health and maintenance improvements and academic and technology updates to Seattle schools and grounds. The Eckstein School PTA Board has endorsed the renewal of the levies and has reserved Wednesday, January 27 from 7-9pm for an Eckstein phone bank on behalf of the upcoming School Levies vote. The phone bank will be held at the Schools First headquarters at 524 Dexter Avenue N. Please contact Patrick O’Kelley (pwokelley2@gmail.com) to sign up to attend the phone bank. Mon 16 Nov 2009 Each year some of your PTSA dollars go toward helping teachers get additional supplies and equipment that they’d have to do without otherwise. This year just under $9000 was awarded to over 30 teachers who asked for grants ranging from $85 to $1570. The average request was $272. Your PTSA membership makes a real difference in the education your children receive. See the complete list after the jump. Every time you use your Safeway Club Card, up to 4% of your purchases will go to Eckstein at no cost to you! Last year, we raised over $10,000 through this program. However, there is potential to raise so much more! The proceeds are used to fund school enrichment programs such as teacher mini-grants, 8th grade dinners, etc. To register, please email me (jmturv@comcast.net) the following information and I’ll take care of the rest. It’s fast, easy, simple and will greatly benefit our children at Eckstein. Just copy and paste the following six rows, fill it out and email it to me. Do it today!
