Sat, Nov 5, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm Eckstein Orchestra Symposium   JIS
This is one of the few orchestra festivals held in the Pacific Northwest, and we will host the event at Eckstein Middle School.  Junior, Intermediate and Senior orchestras will participate.  Students are not required to spend the whole day, but they are encouraged to listen to two other groups.

Thur, Nov 17, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm Fall Concert   BJIS
All orchestras will participate.  Please plan on staying for the entire concert. Students arrive at 7:15 pm, and the performance will begin at 7:45.  Junior and Beginning Orchestras should report to the Orchestra Room (#117), and Intermediate and Senior Orchestra should report to the Band Room (#118) at 7:15.  We will need one parent from each orchestra to keep order in the practice rooms (so you can leave to hear your child play), plus one or two additional parents in the halls to monitor the auditorium doors.  Gina McCotter will be coordinating.
October – December Wintergreen Fundraiser   p
Eckstein Orchestra is proud to again be selling holiday greenery. This has been a very successful fundraiser for us.  All orchestra students are asked to support this fundraiser by selling as many greenery items as possible. We encourage you to sell these popular holiday items to family, friends, and neighbors. For those interested supporters who do not want greenery, donations are also accepted. All order forms should be turned into to the collection box in Mr. Smith’s class with your checks.  Please collect money for your sales upfront. All checks should be made out to Eckstein Orchestra. The profits raised go to support our programs, buy needed supplies, music, and instruments, and to support student scholarships.

Thu-Sun, Jan  19-22 Camp Casey Retreat   BJI
 Students will leave Eckstein after lunch on Thursday and return early afternoon Sunday.  All Junior and Intermediate Orchestra members are expected to attend; Beginning Orchestra students are also welcome (optional).  Students will receive the equivalent of 3 weeks of instruction during this camp.
Thu-Sun, Feb 2-5 Icicle Creek Music Camp   S
We leave after school on Thursday at noon and return about 3:00 pm Sunday.  The senior orchestra students play about 20 hours over a four day period, which essentially give us an extra month of class work time.  This is a high point of the year for the Seniors.

Fri,  Mar 9 WWU Orchestra Festival   JIS
Western Washington University Festival in Bellingham.  Junior and Intermediate Orchestras to Bellingham (overnight trip) for the WWU Festival to compete, listen, and learn with other middle school orchestras from the region.
Sat, Mar 10, Morning Senior Orchestra @ Benaroya Hall   S
Senior is playing at the Benaroya Hall lobby in the moring .
