Ms. Fowler grew up in Southern Oregon among cows, chickens, rabbits, and every other critter you can imagine. She attended Humboldt State University in Arcata, California where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Education and Teaching English as a Second Language.
After a year of service in the AmeriCorps, she moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington and fulfill her life long goal of becoming a middle school teacher. She completed her student teaching right here at Eckstein and received her Master’s in Teaching with endorsements in Language Arts and English Language Learners.
In her free time, Ms. Fowler enjoys reading, cooking, hiking/backpacking/camping, eating great food, and traveling to exotic places.
Her favorite book is The Golden Compass series by Phillip Pullman and her favorite ice cream flavor is Salted Caramel from Molly Moon’s Ice Cream shop. She also loves animals and has a pet cat named Rhubarb.

Mrs. Norman grew up in the Midwest and went to school at Ball State University, made famous by David Letterman. She studied Journalism and went on to work in the newspaper industry for an alternative newspaper called NUVO. Mrs. Norman then traveled the country doing various jobs while slowly taking credits towards teaching; her long term project. She moved to Colorado, Austin, Texas, and then Seattle. She taught English as a second language and environmental education while raising two children and continuing the pursuit of a teaching certificate in Special Education. She graduated from the Masters in Teaching Program at City University and is now VERY excited about teaching at Eckstein.
In her spare time, Mrs. Norman likes to backpack, snowboard, travel, hike, play music, and read with her children. She recently joined a soccer league and is learning to play indoor soccer at Arena Sports!
One of her favorite books is The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. When she grows up, she wants to be an international food critic, traveling the world eating wonderful food.
