Purpose: Students will find and sticky “sentences that sing” by reading their self-selected books and looking for great sounding sentences and good use of imagery in order to begin collecting poetic devices.
- Great sounds include repeated consonant and vowel sounds, rhyme, and rhythm in prose writing.
- Great imagery is sentences that pop vivid mental images for the reader or otherwise make unexpected connections.
